Exhibition “City from Below” at Galerie Einstellungsraum/Hamburg

June 20, 2015 – Read the opening speech “The Cacophony of the Metropolis” by Dr. Thomas Piesbergen, art historian and specialist author, for the vernissage of the current exhibition “City from Below”.

Dr. Piesbergen delivered the opening speech for the current exhibition by Andreas Bromba at Galerie Einstellungsraum in Hamburg on June 16, 2016: For the first time, this photographic concept, which is among the oldest and most important works by Andreas Bromba, is placed in an art historical context. Read it for yourself!

This exhibition is part of the annual theme of Galerie Einstellungsraum, based on the line by Matthias Claudius: “Where there is noise in the streets, pass by” (from his letter to his son Johannes). Andreas Bromba presents quiet works that explore the phenomenon of silence in the contemporary cityscape through photographic means.
